Publishing Without Touching React Code

The Residual Genius blog is markdown-driven. Each post is a .md file in content/blog/ with YAML frontmatter at the top. When you build the site, Vite discovers every markdown file and publishes it to /blog/your-slug.

Required Frontmatter Fields

| Field | Purpose | |-------|---------| | title | Page H1 and SEO title | | description | Meta description + OG description | | date | Publish date (ISO YYYY-MM-DD) | | author | Byline and Article schema author | | slug | URL path segment (/blog/{slug}) |

Optional Fields

  • updated, last modified date (defaults to date)
  • excerpt, card blurb on /blog index (defaults to description)
  • tags, array for filtering and related posts
  • category, single category label
  • eyebrow, small label above the title
  • internalLinks, array of { label, path } for the "Keep reading" nav slot

Write In Markdown

Use standard markdown headings (##, ###), lists, and links. Internal links to other site pages can use root-relative paths:

Read our guide on [Schedule A reconciliation](/schedule-a-reconciliation).

What Happens at Build Time

  1. All content/blog/*.md files are loaded via import.meta.glob
  2. Frontmatter is parsed with gray-matter
  3. Posts sort newest-first on /blog
  4. Each post gets Article JSON-LD, Open Graph tags, and a canonical URL

Tip: Keep one H1 per page, the template renders title from frontmatter as the H1. Use ## for sections in the markdown body.
